Privacy Policy — Petra: Pet Tracker

Overview

Petra (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a pet tracker application developed for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

The short version: Petra stores your pet data locally on your device. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Data You Provide

When you use Petra, you may enter:

Pet names, species, breeds, and birthdates
Pet photos (selected from your device’s photo library)
Veterinary appointment dates and notes
Weight records and health logs
Expense records (amounts, categories, dates)

This data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). It is not transmitted to our servers by default.

1.2 Purchase & Subscription Data (Petra Pro)

If you subscribe to Petra Pro, purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat may collect:

A pseudonymous app user ID
Purchase transaction identifiers
Subscription status and entitlement information

RevenueCat does not collect your name, email, or payment card details. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy for details.

1.3 Photo Library Access

Petra requests access to your photo library solely to allow you to select a photo for a pet profile. We do not access, scan, or upload photos beyond what you explicitly select.

1.4 Diagnostic & Crash Data

We may receive anonymised crash reports and diagnostic information through Apple’s built-in crash reporting if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers via your iOS Settings. We use this solely to identify and fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not:

Sell your data to third parties
Use your data for advertising

3. Data Storage & Security

All pet data you enter is stored locally on your iOS device.
Data is protected by your device’s built-in security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode).
If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
We do not operate servers that store your personal pet information.

5. Children’s Privacy

Petra is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app carries an App Store age rating of 4+, as it contains no age-restricted content.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you.
Deletion: Since data is stored locally, you can delete it by removing the app. For RevenueCat subscription data, contact us at the email below.
Correction: Edit or delete data directly within the app.

7. International Users

Petra is available globally. By using the app, you acknowledge that any subscription data processed by RevenueCat may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where RevenueCat operates.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
