1. Introduction

Just Wait (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a mindful shopping app built to help you make intentional purchase decisions. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

We built Just Wait with a simple principle: your data belongs to you. We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share your information with third parties for commercial purposes.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All core app data is stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

Items you add to your cool-down list (name, price, URL, note, cool-down duration, urge history)
Your decision history (dropped or bought, with timestamps)
App settings (default cool-down, currency preference, notification preferences)
Your streak count and savings totals

This data is held in the app’s in-memory state. Reinstalling the app resets all data.

2.2 Notification Permissions

If you grant notification permission, we schedule local push notifications on your device using Expo Notifications. These notifications are:

Generated entirely on-device
Not routed through our servers
Removable at any time via your device’s notification settings

We do not collect device tokens or send server-push notifications in the current version.

2.3 Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

Your name, email address, or any account credentials
Location data
Camera or microphone data
Contact list data
Payment information
Browsing history
Advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID)
Crash reports (no analytics SDK is integrated in v1.0)

3. Third-Party Services

Just Wait v1.0 does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

The app is built on the Expo platform. Expo may collect minimal technical telemetry as part of their managed runtime. Please refer to Expo’s Privacy Policy for details.

4. Data Retention

Because all data is stored locally on your device, we do not retain any personal information on our servers. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all app data from your device.

5. Children’s Privacy

Just Wait is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

6. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data remotely, most data rights (access, correction, deletion) are exercised by managing the app data directly on your device or by uninstalling the app.

If you reside in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. As we do not process personal data remotely, these rights are largely self-exercised. For any questions, please contact us.

7. Security

We take security seriously. Since all data is local to your device, the security of your data depends on your device’s own security (screen lock, encryption). We recommend keeping your device OS updated.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be noted with an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
